WOOD BURNING STOVES FAQ
General
A. Is my chimney prepped for a Stove?
It is always best to get your chimney inspected prior to fitting to check the condition of your chimney prior to installing a multi-fuel stove. If you do not use a liner, your chimney should be at least 4.5 metres and in Class 1 brick condition with no holes where smoke could escape.  If advised by an expert to install a liner to provide a better draw and to ensure no smoke leakage, it is always best to install a 316 or 904 grade flexible flue liner.
B. How to light a Wood Burning Stove?
Leave some ash from a previous fire. Place some smaller logs on a bed
Add a stack of smaller kindling logs to create a little wooden triangular tee-pee shape. Place a natural fire lighter in the middle and all around the base. Open the airflow so that the fire has oxygen to fuel it. Make sure there isn't so much air that the initial fire goes out. Light the firelighter and close the door almost completely. When the fire is roaring, close the door and reduce the airflow so that you don't burn through your fuel immediately. When refuelling the fire, make sure there is ample airflow for the new fuel to be burning well. Then reduce the airflow again.

C. How often should my Wood Burning Stove be serviced?
